The WOLFoods Experience

WOLFoods breaks away from the standard approach towards camp food by eliminating the standard freezer-to-table fare and improving it with home-style scratch cooking.

Summer camp kitchens and dining halls are a great opportunity to educate campers on the importance of balanced diets and green initiatives. A diverse menu offering allows campers to not only enjoy their favorites, but to experience culture through exploring cuisine. Each meal offers something freshly baked on site by one of our professional bakers in the camp bakery. Campers can enjoy perfectly executed entrees, or they may enjoy an offering from the morning fruit and yogurt bar at breakfast and during lunch and dinner, the salad bars.

No camper is left without personalized care. Any camper requiring special diets is attended to with importance by one of our trained chefs. WOLFoods is practiced and prepared to cook for an array of diets ranging from Kosher to Nut Free, or Gluten Free to Vegan.

Roles in a restaurant kitchen vary from head, executive, and sous chefs to pastry specialists, sauciers, and Garde Mangers, offering many opportunities for aspiring culinary artists to follow their palatable career dreams. While envisioning and creating masterful dishes for a living is a fantasy for many, this industry is one filled with barriers, including low-paying starting positions and the need to work relentlessly to stand out and break through the glass ceiling. Even those who make it may find this dream less fulfilling than expected, overwhelmed with long working hours, a fast-paced, stressful environment, and an unbalanced work-life dynamic.

For many people, the culinary realm is more than a world of delectable dishes; it’s a way of honoring one’s values by following a diet that aligns with individual ethics, especially ones tied to religion. Growing up in the Jewish, Muslim, or Hindu faiths, preparing food the right way becomes intuitive. These methods and rules are later preserved when caring for your own family, ensuring meals nurture both bodies and minds. For parents following specific requirements, trusting those outside of their religion, or even household, to nourish their children is a daunting challenge that may lead to a reluctant approach toward away-from-home activities, such as summer camp.
